Spherack Reloaded - Build 062
by Andrew on April 19th, 2009
The launch of build 061 went rather nice but also disastrous at the same time. Infact, so far disastrous that I almost considered reverting to build 060 again. The new D+Pad Games client has helped spread the games popularity a bit so far; more games have been being held, but at the same time its running users into huge troubles. The new menu changed a lot of internal variables and loading methods for the game, and its entire new system being thrown in has led to strange issues on other computers. I myself have been fine, but other players have been reporting weird error messages and issues with the build. Even though they have sent error reports, I have not been able to track the root of the problem being I can’t replicate on my own system. I decided to keep the new lobby, try to play with a few things that may be causing the issue, and resume with development of Spherack 3. This isn’t a massive update, but anyone who can still access the game might appreciate it. I will also from now on be packaging all the game’s .dll files with updates to try and fight the issues some people have been having with them. Whenever there’s a new build, the existing dll’s will be replaced, incase something nuts happened to them or one went missing. Should work out well in the end, hopefully.

Spherack Reloaded Build 061!
by Andrew on April 15th, 2009

IT’S FINALLY HERE! The extremely long awaited D+Pad Games Client, revealed within Spherack Reloaded Build 061! By popular demand, we bring you a brand-new internal matchmaking system for the game, featuring a built-in chat system so you can talk with other players online and a new detailed server browser, for more information on the current status of the games being played. Better yet, you can talk with users in the game straight from the lobby! No more wasting your time mindlessly dawdling in an empty server, killing yourself and wasting your score, waiting for players to come online!
The new D+Pad Games Client is pretty much all the new stuff you’ll see in this build, but it’s enough to make your heart happy. Especially considering people begged and pleaded for this.
I hope you all enjoy as much as I did losing countless hours of sleep these past few weeks!
Also, expect the stand-alone client to be released sometime soon and also integration with Cookz It and future D+Pad releases!

Reloaded Profiles Fixed
by Andrew on April 5th, 2009
So I noticed yesterday that the daily-activity logs were being updated, yes, but the user’s entire play history was being replaced with the latest day’s. Additionally, the leaderboard page was displaying a few errors but fear not! I’ve fixed both of these issues now and everything is working as it should be. =]

Cookz It! - Chowder Time v1.00
by Andrew on February 15th, 2009
So you’re this guy living in a world where nobody will hire you and you’re running low on money. In short, you’ve got nothing to live for except for your favourite food, Clam Chowder. Then the idea hits you; you’ll create jobs for the unemployed workforce and sell your own clam chowder at the same time!
You venture off into the middle of no-where, which ironically everyone visits all the time and open up your own chowder stand by the shore. The question is, how long can a one man shop supply the entire community before everyone moves on?
Alternatively, if you’re on a machine running java, you can use the “play game online” feature which will load the game without installing it to your computer. Just ignore the little security warning you may get (it’s nothing bad, promise) and hit the button below!

Reloaded Build 059 - It does work for you!
by Andrew on February 7th, 2009

Well, I don’t exactly mean it automatically goes around crushing all your foes for you, but Build 059 has a little “brain” programmed in that will automatically try and fix encountered errors for you, without interfering with your gameplay! Additionally, if it’s a new error we’re not familiar with, Spherack will automatically send a report to us! So now instead of having boxes pop up screaming at you that an error has occured and the world is going to end, you can just keep on killing people with the comfort the game is handling everything for you.
Not only are error pop-up’s a thing of the past, but Build 059 also features the addition of a new map! It’s pictured in the little image above… all… blurry… Oh well, guess you’ll just have to play to see it, eh?
More changes lie ahead; read on for a full list of changes!

Expanding Spherack 3’s Publicity
by Andrew on January 25th, 2009
Because keeping the game within our own community obviously won’t do much good, I’ve begun to spread the word of Spherack Reloaded now that it’s “stable” enough to be put in the hands of a larger crowd. The game can now be downloaded at YoYoGames and the Game Maker Community.
Additionally, I’ve also set up a Spherack Reloaded page on Facebook so now Facebook users around the world can discover and discuss the game. Feel free to check it out.
Don’t forget to keep spreading the word on your own too! Invite your own friends to the Facebook page and to play, and try hosting your own server! See what happens!
